Margaret “Jean” Harrison June 3, 1932 - December 19, 2018

Margaret Jean Harrison, 86 passed away in her home on December 19th, 2018 in Strasburg, CO due to natural causes.
Jean was born on June 3rd, 1932 in Decatur, IL to her parents Davie and Cressie Pope. Jean was married to James Albert Harrison on April 10, 1952 in Decatur, IL.
In 1963 Jean and Jim moved to La Junta, CO and in 1964 they moved to Colorado Springs, CO. Jean worked at Fort Carson Army base as the first female fork lift operator.
In her younger years Jean enjoyed riding horses bare back and as time moved on she enjoyed camping, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her dog Vick.
Mrs. Harrison is survived by her two sisters Betty Anne Six and Carol Wilber and her brother Junior Pope; seven children, Rebecca Strange, Mary Dillon, Cindy Harrison, Jimmy Harrison, Elizabeth Hesting, Skip Harrison, and Daniel Harrison. Jean has 4 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Harrison, grandson Robert Dillon, and granddaughter Rachel Strange.
Viewing and memorial services will be held on December 27th, 2018 at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80904. The viewing will begin at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend, honor, and celebrate the life of Margaret Jean Harrison.
