Obituary for Kathleen Rae (Koenke) ROZELL

Kathleen Rae Koenke Rozell passed away peacefully at her home in Manitou Springs on December 16, 2018. She was born in September, 1925 in Peckham, Oklahoma to Clarence W. and Evelyn A. Koenke.

Kate attended school in both Peckam and Newkirk and graduated from Newkirk High School. She went on to work as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for several years, and in later years worked as a seamstress for Lee’s Clothing in Colorado Springs.
Kate was a member of The First Christian Church of Newkirk and later a member of The Presbyterian Church in Derby. She loved going to church, met many wonderful people and made many great friends at both churches.
Her bucket list included traveling the country, seeing new sights and making friends everywhere she went. She traveled all over this country with her husbands and made countless friends everywhere she went. In her later years she looked forward to spending more time with her sons.
In 2018 she moved back to Colorado and lived out her days with her boys. In the end she had done all she could, for as many as she could, for as long as she could. She passed quietly with no pain and no worries surrounded by loving family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby L. Rozell (3-1-1991) of Manitou Springs, Colorado; her second husband, Clifford W. Rozell (1-1-2018) of Derby, Kansas; a son Michael R. Rozell, of Ridgecrest, California; a sister, Colleen F. Koenke-Goulden of Newkirk, Oklahoma; and a brother, Kenneth L. Koenke of Dodge City, Kansas.
She is survived by her three sons and two stepchildren, Bobby G. Rozell (Joan) of Manitou Springs; David A. Rozell and Wanda Colvin of Manitou Springs, Clinton V. Rozell (Rose) of Colorado Springs; Steven L. Rozell (Gay) of Derby; Leslie G. Rozell Enloe (Mike) of Eldorado, Kansas. She is also survived by two brothers, Carrol E. Koenke of Forks, Washington and Claude W. Koenke, of Arkansas City, Kansas; and a sister, and Vitora L. (Toots) Koenke Hodges of Pittsburg, Kansas, and a cousin Robert D Sallee of Coffeyville, Kansas.
