Obituary for Donald L STARR

Donald L. Starr passed away peacefully at his home September 2, 2018.

Born in 1934 in South Dakota to Ralph L. Starr and Erma V. Mullenburg.

Don was a civil engineer for the Army Corp of Engineers. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1966 and worked on various projects at the Air Force Academy and Fort Carson where he was the resident engineer for 20 years.

Don loved hunting for deer, elk, birds and water fowl and training his black Labrador retrievers. He also loved fly fishing and tying his own flys.

He had many other hobbies and interests including bowling, golf and bridge where he achieved Life Master status. One of his cherished hobbies was camping with his family.

Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley; daughter Paula (Bob) Kerr; granddaughter Danyel Starr; grandson Bob (Suzanne) Kerr and great grandchildren Mason, Jacob, Cameron and Abby. He is also survived by his faithful companion Holly.

He is much loved and will be greatly missed.
