Obituary for Mary Evelyn "Lynn" Vagneur

Mary Evelyn Fernley Vagneur, always known as Lynn went to be with her Lord, her loving husband Clayton and her family on August 23, 2016.
Lynn was born August 1, 1922 in Beaver, Utah to Gus and Bertha Fernley - the fourth of 5 children. She loved the small town but at age 10 the family moved to Salt Lake City. After high school she received a 2 year degree at the University of Utah. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank, but when WWII came along she was able to leave a locked in job because aviation was more important. She became a stewardess for United Airlines and in 2 short years was one of the most senior "stews". She always talked of "Logging Lap Time". That was sitting on the co-pilots lap when there were few or no passengers. She was hostessing trips on both V.E. and V.J. Day and all 23 passengers - young soldiers got sick. They were so excited the war was ending. These were the DC-3 days.
She married a young handsome co-pilot, Clayton Vagneur, from Colorado and moved to Denver in 1947. Lynn and Clay had many great adventures together during Clay's years of working for United Airlines, the Airline Pilot Association and the International Pilot Association. Lynn always said she never dreamed she would get out of the U.S. let alone getting to go to many countries in Europe. She has missed Clay having lost him 21 years ago.
Lynn was an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook and homemaker. She loved dogs and over the years had 5 poodles. The last of which is Colette who misses her mommie terribly.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Carol, who is the women she is today because of being Lynn's only child.
Lynn will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, and also by many dear friends.
