Obituary for Almeta Ferne Irick

Almeta Ferne Irick, age 88, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on November 29, 2010 in Colorado Springs. Almeta was born on October 8, 1922 in Topeka, Kansas, a daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel Mayfield Glover, Sr. Almeta was a retired telephone operator from Ft. Carson. She loved spending time with her family, she had a passion for roses and working in her rose garden, she loved the outdoors and feeding the squirrels. Almeta would read any book she could get her hands on, she wouldn't miss a Road Runner cartoon and to top it all off, she was a true Bronco fan. She is survived by her son, Michael R.; two daughters, Kathy E. Thomas and Karen P. Joyner; 5 grandchildren, Brian, Monica, Jennifer, Samantha and Dionda; 8 great grandchildren, Taura, Michelle, Briana, Brigit, Brandee, Allen, Phillip and Katie. At her request cremation has taken place. Private family services are planned.
