Johne B. Newell Jr., 48, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on November 16, 2010 in Colorado Springs. John was born on August 15, 1962; a son of the late, John and Rosemary Newell Sr. Johne was a veteran of the US Army. Johne was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Miami Dolphins and the Los Angeles Lakers. One of Johne’s favorite things was spending time with his family especially with his beloved grandchildren.
Johne is survived by his loving wife, Kristie Beightel Newell, his four children, Chastaty Marie (Mike Lemuel) Mena, Stephanie Nicole (Darius) Newell Pittenger, Johne B. Newell III, and Joshua Dustin Newell all of Colorado Springs, a sister, Connie Newell of Phoenix, Arizona, six grandchildren, Aaliyah Isabelle Mena, Hayden Star Mena, Brandon - Lee Kyle Newell, Ethan Joshua Carver, Tristan Matthew Newell, Austin Anthony Newell and by his mother-in-law, Carol Gulledge.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Blunt Mortuary 2229 W. Colorado Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Blunt Mortuary Chapel.
