Obituary for Harold Price

Harold Price
Harold Price passed away on July 26, 2018 at the age of 87 in Colorado Springs. He was born in Beebe, Arkansas, the youngest of ten children, and grew up in Louisiana. Harold and his wife Carol met in Denver, Colorado and were married after a short courtship. They were married 63 years.
Harold and Carol raised their children in many places over the years, but returned to Colorado almost 30 years ago.
Serving others was always very important to Harold and he was an active volunteer in many organizations over the course of his life. He was a friend to all he met and never met a stranger. Harold made a difference in many people’s lives over the years using his ability to relate to anyone. He had a heart for those who struggled and was willing to help anyone in need.
Harold had a very spontaneous nature and his family loves to share “Harold” stories about his many escapades. Life was never dull with Harold and his adventures! He had a big heart, generous nature and a great sense of humor.
Harold always enjoyed having a large garden and had a green thumb like no other. He could make things grow just about anywhere. He loved riding and training horses and had several horses over the years. Harold loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker once he and Carol located back in Colorado. His sons got him into tennis and he enjoyed playing for many years. Harold and Carol always loved being on the go and traveled many places.
Harold proudly served in the Air Force for 4 years in the early 1950’s during the Korean War. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana University. Once he left the service, he established his own soft drink bottling company in Monroe, LA and operated it for 10 years.
He and Carol moved their family to Texas when Harold went to work for the insurance industry. He retired after twenty-five years in the insurance industry.
Harold will be greatly missed by his wife Carol, and children Paul (Cindy) from Katy, Texas, David (Trisha) from Henderson, Texas, Doug (Debbie) from Bedford, Texas, and Cindy (Jay) from Boulder, Colorado. Harold enjoyed his ten grandchildren and was proud to see his family expand to include four great grandchildren and one on the way.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Edgar Price and Annie Miller Thornton Price, son Daniel Stephen Price, seven brothers and two sisters.
The family is very grateful for the incredible and loving care Harold received at Liberty Heights Memory Care in Colorado Springs and from Pikes Peak Hospice.
Services will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Monument, CO on August 11 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Harold can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice or Catholic Charities Marian House Soup Kitchen.
