Mrs. Janna Emily Fortune, 64, was born in Denver, Colorado on 1 May 1953, and departed to heaven on 23 July 2017 in Birmingham, Alabama. Janna consistently provided a compassionate ear, always wanted to be of service, and her home and heart were always open for those in need. Janna enjoyed camping, Pikes Peak, the Great Sand Dunes, collecting turtle and angel figurines, cross-stitching, crocheting, jig-saw puzzles, reading, teaching kids, and was an avid Bingo player.

Janna was a public servant, who served in the United States Army, as a public school teacher, as a wife of a Army careerist, and as a devoted caretaker of those she would call family, including many without blood relation. Janna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Troy University with an undergraduate degree in business management, and from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a Master’s Degree in Education. In her life adventure, Janna worked as a manager for 7-11/Citgo, a Director of Youth Services on a military base, and ended her career as a Special Education teacher in Falcon, Colorado.

Mrs. Janna Emily Fortune was preceded in death by her mother Lela Ellis and father G. Thomas Ragghianti, and her brother Donald Ragghianti. She is survived by her husband, William T. Fortune Sr., her 5 children: Daniel (Maria), Thomas (Yvonne), Jannae, William S. (Irma), & Chloe, her 3 stepchildren: Alesia, William Jr. (Tivica), & Anthony (Felicia), her 13 grandchildren: Alexis, Jayda, Alexis, Elizabeth, Thomas Jr., Ella, Mia, William III, Daniel Jr., Uriah, Emily, Janiah, & Madison, her brother Michael Ragghianti, her niece Marlene Ragghianti, and great-nephews Casey and Colby Ragghianti.

The Memorial Service for Mrs. Janna Emily Fortune will be on Friday, 4 August 2017 @ 10:00am at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
