Obituary for Freddie ""Winnie"" Livingston

Freddie ""Winnie"" Livingston
Freddie "Winnie" Livingston born October 4, 1922 to Sophronia and Fred Williams of Trinity, Texas departed this life on Monday, July 31, 2017. She was the third of four children born to Fred and Sophronia and spent most of her life in Texas before moving to Colorado Springs in 1992 to be near her only child, Jim Abbott and family.

Winnie, as she liked to be called, attended the schools of Trinity, Texas where she earned her early public school education and went on to complete her high school education in Houston, Texas. Her work outside of the home was helping her second husband in his small business and she later worked in the medical healthcare field.

She was married three times: first to Bennie Abbott, the father of her only child, Jim Abbott; later to Reverend A. Van Winn, a United Methodist minister, until he departed this life and finally to Willie "Bob" Livingston, who preceded her in death in 2005. Winnie confessed her love for Christ at an early age and spent much of her life as a devoted member of the United Methodist Church spending her late years as a devoted member of Peoples
United Methodist Church, Colorado Springs.

Winnie leaves to mourn her son Jim Abbott (Essie), grand sons Jim Abbott, Jr. and Dr. Eric Abbott, relatives and a host of friends and associates. Winnie will be remembered for her unique sense of humor.
Winnie's homegoing services will be held at 11a.m., a viewing at 10 a.m., Friday, August 4 at Payne Chapel AME Church, 3625 Marion Street, Colorado Springs. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
