Obituary for Rebecca Paden
Rebecca Paden, age 78, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Colorado Springs. She was born in Jackson, Alabama on April 28, 1939 to Vivian and Mary (Molly) Long. She married Jack Paden in 1961 (divorced 1973), and due to the nature of his job as a Field Engineer, travelled across the country with many temporary homes until they settled in Colorado Springs around 1970.She spent most of her time raising her three children until she began working as a Secretary/ Office Manager at The Coffee Man, a local coffee supply company. During that time she developed a long term relationship with Roy Hudspeth, and enjoyed his company for many years. In her later years, she reunited with her ex-husband Jack and shared a home and companionship with him until his death in 2011. She spent her last years under the loving care of Life Care Center of Colorado Springs.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Janet Paden; her daughter and son-in-law Robyn and Randy Comerford: and her daughter Angela Alvarez. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She lived her life passionately by fully endorsing her favorite saying “ain’t nobody has more fun than people!” She was a fan of all things southern, and spent many Saturdays imploring the Crimson Tide to roll over their unfortunate foes. She enjoyed many hours in Cripple Creek challenging lady luck, and more often than not came away victorious. She never shied away from solving the earth’s problems, especially with a friend and a glass filled with ice and clear inspiration and insight.
A celebration of life service will be held at Life Care Center of Colorado Springs, 2490 International Circle on Sunday, July 2nd at 2:00 pm. Our sincere gratitude goes to the caring staff of Life Care Center for their support, care and companionship.
