Obituary for Patricia Carol Montesano

Patricia Carol Montesano
Patricia Carol (Brooker) Montesano resided in the Colorado Springs area for 43 years. Patricia moved to Colorado with her family from White Plains, NY, for the clean mountain air. She was an active member of the Tri-Community/Sacred Heart Parish, and was involved with many community programs. She served as a Eucharistic minister, spiritual companion and spiritual care coordinator, volunteer with Cancer patients and chaplain's assistant at Penrose hospital.
Pat had the opportunity to explore many careers, beginning in her teens at AT&T in New York. In Colorado, she worked at a toy store while attending radiology school! The majority of her career was spent as executive secretary to generals in the civil service at the Air Force Academy and Space Command. In her later years, she spent time working at Girl Scouts of America and SET of Colorado Springs, but her favorite was cooking for the priests of the Tri -Community Parish in Colorado Springs. As an accomplished writer and published author, she wrote several books, poems, articles and e-books.
More important to her than any career was her dedication as a wife and mother. Married at 19 years of age, it was the prayer of her wedding to have the privilege to see her children's children and their children. As the mother of 9, she was blessed to have done just that. She is survived by her children, Frank Montesano, Jr., Paul Montesano (Dina), Mike Montesano (Gina), Donna Diedrich (Marty), Patti Mattas, James Montesano, and Rosemary Sweat (Aaron). She is survived by 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by daughter Mary Virginia Montesano (1970), husband Frank John Montesano (1976) and son Christopher Montesano (2005).
Patricia celebrated her Irish heritage, was blessed with a strong faith, "a gift from God", and was grateful to be blessed with a life of love. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a strong woman and an inspiration. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed.
