Obituary for Philip Wood Foster

Philip Wood Foster
Born 6 June 1934 to Edward and Lydia Foster, died 5 December 2016, Colorado Springs, CO.
Survived by wife of 58 years, Julie; children Jim (Julie Satterlee), Ron, Sharon (Charles Greenbaum; grandchildren James (Allison), Sarah, Sophie, Michael; siblings Mary (Dave Creger) and Bob (Dot).
Phil will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother. He faced life with enthusiasm and confidence, accepting challenges with his simple motto “I do stuff”. He was particularly proud of serving in the Air Force for 12 years as a navigator – running the Pike Peak Marathon 19 times – owning and maintaining antique cars – building and flying private planes – remodeling houses – sharing stories about growing up in the Patty Jewett neighborhood – being part of the Colorado Springs cohousing community and building the commercial building adjoining it.
Phil’s legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren all of whom he proudly states have inherited his “good genes”. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. After a long illness, we take comfort in knowing he is now with the Lord.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Dec 16 at 11AM, followed by a social gathering and lunch from noon to 2PM at Phil’s beloved Dogtooth Coffee Shop.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to charity.
